Outreach
St. John’s actively participates in and supports the following activities and organizations:

St. John’s Beans and Rice Ministry
Members of the congregation gather at the Church every third Saturday of the month to put together bags of beans and rice for those in the community who have run out of their allotment of food from the local food banks. We require no background checks and no questions asked. It is there just for the asking. Sometimes there are fresh vegetables available in season from the church garden grown by our children’s Sunday School Members and Cub Scouts.

Thanksgiving Food Boxes

St. John's collects cans and dried foods for six Thanksgiving Food Boxes for clients of Hopewell/Prince George Healthy Families before the Thanksgiving Holiday. Monetary donations are not needed for this outreach project. We are in the process of collecting items for this year's baskets. Please get your items in before or by November 14th. Please try to get items that are specifically asked for so baskets will have a basic consistency. Below is the list of canned and dried good needed:

Canned Yams, Green Beans, Sweet Peas, Canned Collards, Canned Corn, Jar Turkey Gravy, Cranberry Sauce, Fruit Cocktail, Macaroni & Cheese boxes, Instant Mashed Potatoes, Stuffing mix, Cornbread mix, Jell-o, Cake Mix & Frosting.

Thank you for helping to feed families who will otherwise not have a meal for Thanksgiving Day. Your food donations are appreciated!
